Art for Youth London is a highly popular exhibition in aid of the leading national youth charity UK Youth, taking place this year on Wednesday 14th September and Thursday 15th September 2016 at The Mall Galleries, SW1.
Now celebrating its 29th year, this long-established event consistently provides exceptionally high quality artwork from around 130 artists at affordable prices from £200 to £5,000. Emerging artists, chosen by a selection panel, have the chance to exhibit alongside more established ones. Art enthusiasts can acquire oils, watercolours, ceramics, sculpture, photographs and jewellery in the knowledge that through their purchases they are supporting talented contemporary artists, while also transforming the lives of thousands of young people across the country.
Over 1,000 works of art go on display and artists donate 35% of sales to UK Youth. Funds are also raised through two live auctions by Nicholas Bonham and a silent auction – and for those on smaller budgets there is also a fantastic raffle and mystery postcards selling for £35. Artists participating this year include Diana Brooks prize- winner Kate Morgan, whose “Jungle at Night” occupied a platform space in 2015 – plus Holly Frean, Nicola Hicks, Afshin Naghouni, Alice Shirley, Guy Haddon Grant, Louise McNaught, David Howell PPRSMA, and many others.
This year’s special project is “In England we Dream of Gardens”, a themed gallery dedicated to the English garden as a tribute to the 300 year anniversary of the birth of Capability Brown. It is curated by Alice Shirley, winner of the Wates Foundation Diana Brooks Prize in 2012, under the mentorship of Art for Youth’s Creative Director, Caitlin Mavroleon.

We love that we are providing a platform for artists in central London to exhibit their work while supporting the great work UK Youth is doing with young people.”
The Wates Foundation Diana Brooks Prize worth £1,000 is an integral part of the exhibition, awarded annually by the founder of Art for Youth London, Diana Brooks, to an exhibiting artist aged 35 or under. Art will also be on display by the winner of the Art for Youth London Reach Prize 2016.
This year’s event is supported by the UK’s largest independent property partnership Strutt & Parker and Swiss private bank Lombard Odier.
Over 2,000 people visit the Art for Youth exhibition every year so it is recommended that tickets are booked in advance. Tickets for Wednesday are £20 in advance and £25 on the door; tickets for Thursday are £18 in advance and £20 on the door. Buy tickets online at www.artforyouth.com.
