The long-standing head of sales at Strutt & Parker's Kensington office, Rupert Wiggin, is handing over the reins to his friend and colleague, James Gow. After 25 years working in London, Rupert is returning to his roots in the country to test his skills in a different market. He will be joining Strutt & Parker’s Country House Department, covering the south of England.

A highly respected and experienced agent, Rupert began his career working for Lane Fox in Chelsea in 1993. He was involved in growing the business to becoming one of the most respected and successful agents in prime central London. In February 1999 he and James Gow set up the Kensington office for Lane Fox, which in 2007 merged with Strutt & Parker. Today, the team is responsible for the sale and lettings of apartments and houses in W8, W11 and W14.

Reflecting on his time in London, Rupert said: “Opening the Kensington office in 1999 was a huge and exciting challenge and it has been hugely rewarding to see it be so successful in delivering good results and most importantly a very good service to our clients. I will be joining the highly successful Country House Department, and helping to grow the business and showcase the best in class prime and valuable country houses.”

James Gow was most recently the head of house sales in Kensington. Along with Rupert, he was one of the founding partners who opened the Kensington office in 1999, and after 19 years working in the area he has accumulated a wealth of insight and expertise on the residential market.

James said: “It’s a privilege to have worked alongside Rupert and built a very special atmosphere and team spirit in the office. In my opinion, Kensington offers the very best London properties, from the characterful properties in Hillgate Village to the fine houses on the Phillimore Estate. We have had many referrals over the years from past clients and that is the biggest compliment one can ask for. Repeat business is a real testament to the way we do our work and look after our clients.”

Commenting on his successor, Rupert said: “James Gow is a brilliant agent, and an exceptional person. A natural leader, I’m confident James will take the Kensington office forward to greater glories.”
