Situation
Dymocks Mill is situated on a quiet lane in the small rural hamlet of Oldcastle astride the English/Welsh border. It is positioned in an idyllic spot alongside the River Wych in beautiful countryside with direct views over the mill pond. The village of Malpas is only three miles away and has a good range of local shops, whilst a more extensive range can be found further afield at Whitchurch and Wrexham. The commercial centre of Chester is only 18 miles away, which provides excellent shopping and leisure facilities. A choice of schools including King.s, Queen.s and Ellesmere are within daily travelling distance and the area offers a range of leisure facilities. Wrexham train station is only 11 miles, with direct links to London Euston.
 
Outside
The gardens are undoubtedly a wonderful feature of Dymocks Mill having been formed around the mill pond. Wrought iron electric gates with sandstone pillars open onto the paved drive flanked by a lawned area with a magnolia tree to one side and a floral border with the pond to the other. The drive leads past the house to the coach house and also to the inner courtyard, where a secondary driveway leads to the second entrance. This inner courtyard area houses a raised dog kennel and an original cold store which is built into the bank behind. A combination of lawns with floral and bush borders make up the majority of the garden dominated by the mill pond with ornamental wooden bridges, central island and a small wooden jetty. Weeping willow trees are positioned within the garden that is bordered by open fields to one side and woodland to the other. The garden is lit throughout either by hidden lighting or Victorian style lamps that flank the drive.
