Senior Negotiator, Estate AgencyChichester
What are your key areas of responsibility at Strutt & Parker?
As part of a busy residential team in central Chichester, my role is to pitch for, market, negotiate and progress sales to exchange. Chichester and the surrounding villages are quite a diverse area. Being a member of a small team has it's advantages in that we work together closely and are able to communicate well and bounce ideas off each other.
Knowing and living in the area for most of my life, I am able to draw on a fairly extensive knowledge of the area, which I feel is a distinct advantage for winning instructions, as potential clients appreciate the fact that you can promote the area where they are selling their property.
What’s the best thing about your job?
The many interesting life stories I encounter from many of the lovely and genuine clients and purchasers I meet. Some stories are interesting, some funny and some sad, but you can learn something new everyday and are never quite sure what you will see, or where you'll be going.
What has been your proudest moment at Strutt & Parker?
The proudest moment quite recently was winning an instruction on a stunning property and, after just 4 weeks of marketing, achieving a competitive bidding situation and then getting the property to exchange in 2 weeks!
What do you love about the town/city you work in?
Being a keen horse rider, I love the fact that on one day you can be cantering along the stunning 7 mile stretch of coastline and sandy beach towards West Wittering and the next day be riding along the many bridleways in the heart of the South Downs listening to the birdsong. I think this is also why Chichester and the villages surrounding attract so many people wanting to buy a property in the our area.
