Elmcote is a detached Edwardian Arts and Crafts house designed by the renowned local architect RW Sampson. Built at the turn of the twentieth century, Elmcote is one of Sampson’s earliest and most charming Arts and Crafts inspired houses. Until recently the property was occupied by one couple for around fifty years, and Elmcote lends itself to a new owner who would be attracted by the opportunity it presents to imprint their own ideas whilst protecting its charm. Directions

From Exeter take the A3052 to Sidmouth. On entering Sidmouth on the B3176 turn right at the mini roundabout onto Cotmaton Road. Proceed to the crossroads and turn right onto Bickwell Valley. Proceed, passing Convent Road on the right and take the left turning for Boughmore Road. The entrance to Elmcote is found on the right hand side.
