Tintern House is a wonderfully light, discreetly located detached house very well-presented with spacious accommodation arranged over two floors and perfectly suited to both family living and entertaining guests.
The accommodation flows from a welcoming reception hall with useful storage to a comfortable, front aspect family room or study and a generous sitting room with high ceilings, French doors onto the garden and a wood burning stove. The dining room, directly accessible from the sitting room and kitchen, also benefits from French doors that lead to the garden. The kitchen features wooden countertops, extensive fitted cabinets and beyond, a practical utility room which houses the boiler. Also on the ground floor is a guest cloakroom.
The first floor includes a large principal bedroom with an en-suite shower room, extensive fitted storage and modern skylight windows. There are also two good sized double bedrooms and a family bathroom.
The spacious gravel driveway leads to the double garage and is decorated with a range of shrubs and flowers. The rear of the property includes a paved patio, wooden seating area, sunny east facing lawn and well-presented flower beds, shrubs and trees. There is also a small greenhouse, shed and log store.
Tintern House is found close to the centre of this very pretty and largely unspoilt village on the upper reaches of the River Test. Within the village there is a post office/store, village hall, church and public house, as well as an excellent community spirit.
The larger centres of Andover and the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, together with the Test Valley town of Stockbridge, are easily accessible and there are mainline railway stations at Andover, Winchester and Basingstoke, all on the Waterloo line. The A303 lies just to the north providing good access to all parts of the country including London and the West Country.
The primary school is in Wherwell which feeds into the Test Valley school in Stockbridge at secondary level. Private schools in the area include Farley School near Andover, as well as Winchester College for boys and St Swithuns for girls in Winchester.
From Strutt and Parkers Winchester branch, head onto Andover Road (B3420) and follow this road for 2.5 miles. At Three Maids Hill, take the second exit and continue onto the A272 for 3.4 miles, then turn right onto the A30 and immediately left onto B3420. Follow the road for approximately 2.4 miles then turn left and continue onto Winchester Street. After half a mile turn left onto Drove Road, then right onto Branksome Avenue. The property can be found about 300 yards along on the left hand side.Read all
