A superb Edwardian Highland Country House located within the Cairngorms National Park.

Dalrachney Lodge is an attractive and substantial building, the original part dating from around 1845 and the main Edwardian building constructed as a hunting lodge in 1905. Edwardian origins are reflected in many outstanding features including delicate ceiling cornicing, excellent use of hardwood fixtures and fittings, tiled fireplaces and the use of wrought iron castings.

It is constructed of stone walls with mostly pitch slate covered roofs. The letting accommodation is located on the first and second floors and part of the ground floor provides a self-contained 2 bedroom apartment/potential owners’ accommodation.

The property sits within approximately 2 acres of grounds which provides a peaceful and tranquil setting with stunning views to farmland and the Cairngorm and Monadhliath Mountains beyond. The property is reached via a tree-lined private driveway just off the Grantown Road and the western boundary is formed by the River Dulnain, providing the establishment with fishing rights.

Having recently undergone an extensive upgrade and refurbishment the property now provides high quality accommodation throughout yet retains its distinctive Highland character.

Internal Accommodation Entrance to the property is under a stone portico via double wooden doors into a vestibule which has original tiling. A further door leads to an impressive entrance hall and the Reception desk at the bottom of a magnificent staircase which benefits from being illuminated by a beautiful stained glass window.

Drawing Room – With period features and an attractive tiled open fireplace. Stunning views over the lawn and beyond.

Bar/Bistro – Approximately 20 covers, period features, open fireplace.

Dining Room– Period features, approximately 24 covers with attractive tiled open fireplace and view to the veranda which has decorative wrought iron works. Fantastic views over the lawn towards the mountains.

Letting Accommodation: There are 12 letting rooms within the hotel building (located over the first and second floor levels). 11 of the rooms are en-suite, fitted out to an excellent standard and all are of good proportions. One bedroom has its own private bathroom. The rooms are configured to 3 triples, 8 doubles, some with zip/link beds, 1 twin, combined has the capacity to sleep 27 guests.

The Cottage – The newly refurbished Cairngorm View is currently used as a holiday let. It could also be used as owners’ accommodation and comprises: 2 bedrooms, large lounge/dining room, kitchen and bathroom.

Historical Note Originally built as a hunting lodge, we understand the property has been used as an hotel since the end of WWII. During WWII the building housed evacuees from Edinburgh and the classroom block built at that time remains in use as part of the hotel.

In the museum at Fochabers there is a dog cart used by King George V during his stay at Dalrachney Lodge. There are photographs of this hanging up in the Hall. Also, there is a large old Victorian cooking range in one of the ground floor rooms which is understood to have been used by King George V whilst staying at Dalrachney Lodge.

This property has 2 acres of land.
