An appealing detached single-storey home with a delightful rear garden

With its white rendered elevations and green paintwork, St. Feock is a charming, cottage-style home with comfortable interiors in a well-designed layout. Wood floor covering in the reception hall extends into the adjacent generously proportioned drawing room and through to the adjoining dining room providing a sense of cohesion across the reception areas. Sliding doors provide a route out from the dining area to the garden affording a link between the inside and the outside environment. Just beyond, the kitchen/breakfast room is fitted with wall and base level units and offers ample space for informal dining, with an external exit to the outdoors.

The property offers three bedrooms, all situated to the westerly wing of the house, with the principal room enjoying the tucked-away privacy of the corner position and the benefit of a modern, en suite shower room. The two additional bedrooms are served by a fully tiled family bathroom. Offering convenience of access, double doors from the drawing room open into a lobby area which provides routes out to the front and rear of the home, along with a courtesy door into the garage.

Outside

To the front, evergreen hedging fronts the road, with a driveway providing parking and leading to the garage. There is an area of lawn with a pathway to the entrance doorway, and to both sides of the property, wrought-iron gates offer routes to the rear garden.

The rear garden is principally laid to lawn, interspersed with specimen trees, with trellising adorned by attractive climbing plants forming a divide mid-way along the length. A pathway extends from the house through a timber arbour and meanders through the second section of the garden where there is a mature apple tree and high level hedging forming a backdrop.

Situation

The property is located on the edge of the popular village of Winkfield. This semi-rural location combines the advantage of country living with the convenience of excellent transport links and easy access to London, the motorway network and Heathrow Airport. Shops catering for day-to-day needs are available in Winkfield and Ascot, whilst the town of Windsor offers more extensive amenities. The local area benefits from a number of superb restaurants and pubs, including the local White Hart public house.

Sporting and recreational facilities in the vicinity are in abundance and some of the best known golf courses in the world can be found in the area, notably Wentworth and Sunningdale. Polo is available at Ascot Park, Guards Polo Club and the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club; horse-racing at Ascot and Windsor; walking, cycling and riding in Windsor Great Park; rowing at Maidenhead Rowing Club and Dorney Lake.

Schooling in the area is well provided for and includes the Licensed Victualler’s School, St. Mary’s School, Heathfield, St. George’s in Ascot, Lambrook in Winkfield Row, and the Ofsted outstanding-rated Charters School, in Sunningdale.

Directions

With Strutt & Parker’s Ascot office on your left, head along the High Street and at the roundabout, turn left onto Winkfield Road. At the next roundabout proceed straight over the two mini roundabouts to stay on Winkfield Road. After about a mile, turn left onto Lovel Road, continue to the end and turn left on the A330. After about 0.8 miles, St. Feock will be found on the right-hand side.
