Ripple Farm Barn forms one of a collection of traditional period former farm buildings in a small Kentish farmstead. Nestled in the folds of the North Downs, the barn offers bright and generous, mainly open plan, accommodation.
On entering the barn, one is immediately aware of the space and volume of the house with the beautiful beamwork being exposed to the full height. The main reception space can be divided into three distinct areas with a cosy seating area arranged around the wood-burning stove and the dining area set at the far end. This is situated immediately adjacent to the kitchen, which is well fitted with a range of wall and floor cupboards; there is ample room for a table and chairs for informal dining as well as utility space at the opposite end of the room.
Just off the main reception area is a good sized study which is currently arranged as Bedroom 4.
The principal bedroom suite is approached off the main reception room and comprises a generous bedroom with a dressing area and en suite bathroom; a family bathroom is adjacent. At either end of the barn individual staircases lead up to two further bedrooms, one with an en suite cloakroom.
To the rear of the barn there is a private enclosed courtyard. This gives way to a small raised area of lawn
Ripple Farm Barn is situated in an idyllic rural position between the villages of Wye and Crundale adjoining open countryside and in the heart of one of the most picturesque areas of Kent. Wye provides a useful range of local facilities and services. Ashford and Canterbury together provide an excellent and broad array of leisure, shopping, cultural and educational amenities. Ashford International station offers High Speed services to London St Pancras (with journey times from 36 minutes) as well as Eurostar connections to the Continent. Both the M2 and the M20 motorways are readily accessible and these connect to the coastal ports and to the remaining motorway network.
From Canterbury: Leave on the A28 towards Chilham and bear left towards Ashford. After about 4 miles on entering the village of Godmersham bear left (signposted to Crundale). Pass under the railway bridge and around a sharp right hand bend continue for a further 0.5 mile. Turn left (signposted to Crundale). The road climbs a small hill and the entrance to Ripple Farm Barn is found on the right hand side beyond a small cottage.
From Ashford: Leave on the A28 towards Canterbury. Ignore the right hand turnings to Wye. Pass through the village of Billting and on entering Godmersham turn right (signposted to Crundale) then follow the directions as above.Read all
