Hangar Court is a superb and substantial family home set in a rural yet highly accessible location within easy reach of Canterbury. Tucked away at the end of a private cul de sac within a small and popular development, the property provides the appealing combination of a contemporary country house, with rural views and extensive gardens, together with the comfort of neighbours (and therefore not being isolated).
Built in 1998, the house is arranged around a central hall and a galleried landing, off which the accommodation radiates. To the front of the house is a dining room and a snug. The sitting room is a generous space with a fireplace and French doors opening to the garden. A fantastic kitchen/breakfast room also looks to the garden and is perfectly arranged for day-to-day family living with space for a table and a sitting area. A useful study is conveniently located off this, as is a utility room.
On the first floor, the principal bedroom enjoys views over the garden and has extensive fitted wardrobes and an en suite bathroom. The double aspect guest room is also en suite. The three remaining bedrooms are served by a family bathroom.
The west wing of the house provides both a single and a double garage as well as a self-contained annexe. A front door leads into a lobby off which is a large sitting room with an adjacent kitchenette; the sitting room has French windows to the garden. A changing room, cloakroom and shower room with a sauna are well situated for use in conjunction with the tennis court. Stairs lead to a bedroom on the first floor.
This property has 1.38 acres of land.
Hangar Court is approached over a gravel driveway leading to the front of the garages and plenty of parking.
The large gardens are a somewhat unexpected and fantastic feature of the property. The garden to the front is laid to lawn with planted borders. To the rear extensive lawns stretch into the distance passing an ornamental pond, a fantastic deck with a gazebo, and the tennis court. The lawn is interspersed with mature trees underplanted with bulbs and shrubs.
At the end of the garden is a beautifully landscaped pond, providing a tranquil spot from which to enjoy the gardens and the wildlife it attracts. The garden gives way to wonderful rural views across surrounding countryside.
Hangar Court is at the end of a cul de sac in sought-after Bekesbourne, a picturesque village surrounded by Kent countryside ideal for walking and riding. The village is also home to multi-award winning, Howletts Wild Animal Park, a breeding sanctuary for some of the most endangered species in the world. Local services can be found in Littlebourne and Bridge, and a comprehensive range of cultural, leisure and shopping facilities in Canterbury. There are excellent schools in both independent and state sectors which provide transport from the village.
The nearby A2 links to the M2 at Brenley Corner. Bekesbourne station has direct services to London Victoria and Canterbury West offers High-Speed trains to London St Pancras in just under an hour. The area has good access to the Continent.
From Canterbury: Head towards the A2 (Dover) and exit left towards Patrixbourne and Bridge. Turn left at the junction onto Bifrons Hill. Proceed to the mini roundabout and veer left onto Station Road. At the next junction (just before the railway bridge) turn right along School Lane. After about a mile turn left into Aerodrome Road. At the next intersection proceed straight ahead into De Havillands. Hangar Court will be found at the end on the left.Read all
