Fir Hill is a substantial impressive Grade II listed house on the edge of the village of Droxford. Built on a rise above the River Meon, it has wonderful views of the Meon Valley. This handsome house is accessed from the village road through private electric double gates and is protected from the road by a high red brick wall with a pleached hornbeam hedge above. The sweeping driveway reveals a very impressive house built of red brick under a clay tiled roof. Fir Hill occupies a prominent position in the popular village of Droxford and lies at the heart of the Meon Valley in the South Downs National Park. With the River Meon meandering along the eastern edge of the village, Droxford has excellent local amenities including a Post Office and village store, a doctors’ surgery (NHS Clinic and Prescription Dispensary), two public houses (The Baker’s Arm and The White Horse), a filling station with convenience store, a garage, an active church (St Mary and All Saints Church) which has been developed as a community hub and café, as well as various social and sports clubs.

The excellent and well regarded primary school is a very important part of the village, as is the Montessori pre-school. There is another pre-school and an infant school just over a mile away in Meonstoke with Swanmore College secondary school three miles away. Nearby Winchester has some highly regarded private sector schools including Tywford, Pilgrims, Winchester College, St Swithun’s, as well as Peter Symonds College. Other schools such as Bedales and Churcher’s College are located in Petersfield. Barton Peverill, a leading sixth form college, is 13 miles away in Eastleigh.

Road and rail links from Droxford are excellent with access to London in 63 minutes by train from Petersfield and 59 minutes from Winchester. The M3 (Junction 9) at Winchester, connects to the South coast via the M27 and the A3 at Petersfield also connects to London.
