The Chapel is a former Wesleyan Methodist Chapel built in 1896, it is a magnificent and unique property that has been the subject of an extensive refurbishment programme, cleverly and lovingly restored by the current owner providing spectacular accommodation presented to an exceptionally high standard and resulting in an outstanding home. No amount of attention to detail has been spared from retaining the balcony frieze and pillars, renovating the italianate corbels, replicating the missing cornicings to restoring the Victorian stained glass windows as well as sourcing vintage radiators from the era creating a truly original property.
To the front of the property is a beautiful italianate portico that protects two sets of double front doors that open into the impressive entrance hall, it features the original decorative tiles as well as wood panelling. On either side of the hall are doors that lead into two parallel rooms, currently designed as a gentlemans room and a ladies boudoir they offer the potential to create additional reception rooms. The heart of the property is the breathtaking central drawing room that was the amphitheatre of the chapel. This incredible light and airy space rising to a 50 foot ceiling with marble decorative flooring boasts the original pulpit which creates an eye catching feature as does the stunning gallery above; it provides a wonderful entertaining area as well as living area. Adjacent and running the whole length of the drawing room is a wonderful orangery, this leads to the stylish breakfast kitchen which benefits from an Ilve range cooker with an induction hob, there is an abundance of storage with clever upcycling of the church pews to provide kitchen floor and wall units, and the sleek marble work surfaces and copper double sink compliment the whole colour scheme. A rear staircase leads down to the utility room and plant room. The ground floor also boasts two WCs and a ground floor en-suite bedroom.
The rear staircase also leads up to the first floor and to the glorious galleried dining room which takes advantage of the view over the drawing room and is simply stunning, leading off this is the the elegant library with a wall of floor to ceiling bookshelves. There is also a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The majority of the bedroom accommodation therefore can be found at the front of the property, all benefit from spectacular luxury modern en-suites. Leading up the west staircase is the master bedroom suite which boasts a double height ceiling, two beautiful stained glass windows and large fitted wardrobes, there is also access out to a generous south facing private balcony, an ideal place to enjoy the sunshine. Steps lead up to the en-suite bathroom that features a deep free standing roll top copper bath, a separate walk-in shower and double sinks crafted out of fossilized wood. The adjacent bedroom benefits from a dressing area and double doors that open to a Juliet balcony overlooking the drawing room, it also has an en-suite shower room, there is a further double bedroom with an en-suite off the landing. A fourth bedroom is accessed from the east staircase this is serviced by its own separate luxury bathroom. All the bathrooms have electric underfloor heating, the drawing room and kitchen have a wet underfloor heating system heated by the biomass boiler.
The property also benefits from an Envirovent heat recovery system as well as a state of the art security system with CCTV cameras that can be managed from mobile devices.
Electric gates open to the imposing entrance and to a block paved parking area. To either side of the Portico is an artificial lawn that softens the whole appearance of the property, a level lawn runs the whole length of the eastern side of the property bordered by a stone wall and iron railings and leads to a pedestrian gate that gives access to a side entrance.
