A detached five bedroom house and self-contained annexe, offering magnificent panoramic sea views
Built in the year 2010, Sunswept is a highly impressive detached property with five bedrooms, and almost 3,000 square feet of beautifully presented, unique and original accommodation, with attractive gardens and stunning sea views. The property occupies an elevated position in the coastal village of Strete, and makes the most of its position with a wealth of glass throughout, welcoming plenty of natural light to the accommodation and framing those magnificent views.
The property is finished to the highest standard throughout, with engineered oak flooring, under-floor heating throughout, bi-fold doors and a striking oak floating staircase, while there is a warm roof with exposed white, oiled Douglas Fir scissor roof trusses, creating a sense of space and light.
The main living accommodation is found on the first floor, where you will find the 48ft open-plan kitchen, sitting and dining area. Bi-fold doors open at both ends of the room, bringing the outside in and revealing the sea views in all their glory. The easterly-facing wall opens onto a veranda, which is perfect for sitting and enjoying the surroundings. The kitchen is fitted with bespoke units, Silica worktops and integrated appliances including a range cooker.
The triple-aspect master bedroom is found on the first floor, with its dressing area and en suite bathroom, while on the ground floor there are further three double bedrooms, one of which has en suite bathroom, plus a family bathroom.
There is an independent annexe on the ground floor, with a cosy open-plan kitchen, sitting and dining area, off which there is a double bedroom and en suite bathroom. This accommodation is ideal for use as a holiday let.
The property boasts grounds approaching three quarters of an acre in total, with double gates providing vehicular access onto the block-paved driveway, which provides plenty of parking space. There is also a double garage with electrically controlled doors. There are splendid west-facing gardens to the rear of the house, with a decked seating terrace, rolling lawns, well-stocked flowerbeds and a variety of mature trees. At the end of the garden lies a fish pond, and beyond the boundary, open fields extend to the south and west, providing a delightful open rural aspect. Additionally, there are plans in place for the construction of a swimming pool in the gardens.
The property lies in a highly desirable area, in the village of Strete, in the heart of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is perched on the stunning Start Bay, and the property occupies an elevated position, with magnificent views out to sea. Strete has a post office, and village store, a local pub, a parish church and a highly recommended restaurant, while further amenities, including supermarkets and a good selection of shops, restaurants, cafés and leisure facilities, can be found in Dartmouth, four miles away. The wonderful South West Coastal Path passes directly through Strete, offering lovely walks along one of Britains most beautiful coastlines, with beaches at Blackpool Sands to the east, and the three mile stretch of Slapton Sands to the west. By road, the A38 Devon Expressway is easily accessible, offering access towards Plymouth and Cornwall to the south, and Exeter, the M5 and beyond to the north.
From Exeter, take the A38 Devon Expressway south for 23 miles, leaving at the Marley Head exit. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit, and then turn left onto Webland Lane. After just more than a mile, at the crossroads, continue straight ahead, and then at the next T-junction, turn right. Continue for five miles, into the village of Moreleigh, and turn left at the T-junction. Continue around to the right and then immediately take a left turning. After half a mile, at the junction, turn right onto the A381, and after a further half a mile, turn left onto the A3122. After three miles, turn right, following the sign for Strete, and continue for three and a half miles, into the village. Turn right onto Hynetown Road. And you will find the property after a quarter of a mile, on your right-hand side.
