A remarkable Grade II Listed house surrounded by mature gardens and stunning views
Listed Grade II being of architectural and historic importance, Great Offley house is constructed of mellow red brick, clad in mature Virginia creeper and wisteria, under a clay tiled roof.
Internally the house combines wonderful light and spacious reception rooms with comfortable bedroom accommodation on the first and second floors. Remarkably, the house is constructed over three different eras, each style clearly visible. Of particular note is the Drawing Room, an elegant space of excellent proportions focused on an attractive carved, open fireplace.
This property has 2.73 acres of land.
Outside
Outside is an extensive range of outbuildings, including the magnificent timber-framed 'party barn' which has a separate kitchen. The property also includes a very comfortable two-bedroom cottage providing useful secondary or letting accommodation.
The Old Stables have now been converted to provide a further games room and storage.
Gardens and Grounds The gardens and grounds are a principal feature of Great Offley House, laid mostly to lawn and studded with a selection of mature trees. To the north is a charming, sunken walled garden with two productive fig trees and wonderful scented roses. Lying in a secluded area to the south of The Old Stables is the heated swimming pool. Further south is a wooded area providing tranquillity just beyond the old tennis court. A mature orchard lies to the north of the house.
