Boscastle, approximately 3 miles away, is situated on the rugged north Cornish coast and is home to quaint stone-built cottages, independent shops, a small supermarket, bistros and three pubs, as well as a charming National Trust tearoom. The Elizabethan quay sits amongst steep cliffs and there is a beach at low tide. The town is is surrounded by farmland, much of which is owned and preserved by the National Trust. The South West Coast Path passes close to Boscastle, which is Englands longest waymarked long-distance footpath and a National Trail. It stretches for 630 miles, running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. There is also ample opportunity for walking, riding and cycling direct from the property itself.
Communications to Cornwall have greatly improved in recent years with daily flights to London Heathrow from Cornwall International Airport (Newquay), which is just 29.5 miles away. The A30 is now mostly dual carriageway to the M5 at Exeter, whilst the A39 Atlantic Highway provides links to Falmouth to the west and Bath to the north east.
Follow the A30 west until the exit for A395/North Cornwall/Wadebridge/Camelford/A39. Join the A395 and proceed for approximately 7.7 miles, into the hamlet of Hallworthy. In Hallworthy, turn right, signposted for Otterham Station/Bude and follow the B3262 for approximately 2 miles. At the end of the road turn left to join the A39, and then shortly afterwards, take the first right turning, signposted for St. Juliot Church/Lesnewth. Continue for approximately 1.5 miles and turn left. Turn immediately right, following the sign for Lesnewth. Enter into the hamlet and take a right turning at the fork in the road, at the public footpath sign. Continue for approximately half a mile and Halamiling is found ahead.Read all
