Rose Cottage is a delightful, very pretty period cottage with light and spacious accommodation. The property has been stylishly decorated throughout, and great care has been taken to retain the original character, with exposed beams and original fireplaces. The ground floor accommodation includes an attractive and cosy sitting room with an inglenook fireplace with bread oven, and adjoins a charming study which has a feature wall of beautiful bespoke built-in bookshelves, and a cast iron fireplace. Off the inner hall there is a good-sized family bathroom. The inner hall leads through to a large and wonderfully light dining room/family room with a polished wooden floor, cast iron fireplace and French doors to the terrace and garden. The kitchen is well fitted with a range of wooden cabinetry, a Belfast sink and a range-style cooker. Stairs lead up to the first floor where there are two charming double bedrooms.

The property is approached from the village lane and a shingle path leads to the front door. There is a parking area to the side of the property in front of the garage. The garden surrounds the house and is mainly laid to lawn, bordered by mature flowerbeds, shrubs and trees. In one corner of the garden there is a timber framed summer house surrounded by bulbs and hellebores producing a stunning display in the winter months. There is also a terrace outside the dining room, ideal for entertaining and al fresco dining, and a useful garden shed and beautiful log store.

Rose Cottage is located in the pretty rural hamlet of Little London, surrounded by a lightly-wooded rolling landscape designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The nearby sought-after villages of Smannell and Hurstbourne Tarrant offer a range of excellent local amenities including highly regarded primary schools and popular pubs and there are very good village stores in nearby Enham Alamein, Hurstbourne Tarrant and St Mary Bourne. More extensive independent and high street shopping and leisure facilities are available in the market towns of Andover or Newbury respectively. The surrounding countryside provides excellent walking and riding opportunities and there is first class racing at Newbury, and golf at Andover, Newbury and Winchester. Transport links are excellent, with direct train services from Andover into London Waterloo, and the A34 and M3 giving easy access to the national motorway network, London and the west country. There are a number of excellent state schools within easy reach including Smannel, Hurstbourne Tarrant and Enham primary schools together with a good selection of noted independent schools including Farleigh, Cheam, Thorngrove and St Gabriel’s.

From Newbury head South on A343 for approximately 10 miles until reaching Hurstbourne Tarrant. Continue through Hurstbourne Tarrant, going up the hill towards Andover, and after approximately 1 mile take the left hand turning onto Green Drove. Follow Green Drove to Little London, and where the road bends sharply round to the right, turn left and the entrance to the property can be found after a short distance on the right hand side.
