West End Cottage is situated on the outskirts of the village of Mattingley approached by a long gated driveway within the village conservation area.

The rural hamlet of Mattingley lies about 3 miles from the nearest village of Hook and is within an area of un-spoilt countryside. Within the village there is an old Church, Public House and a village hall.

Hook is a large village and is particularly favoured for its access to the commuter routes and with a mainline station serving London Waterloo. The village provides facilities for day to day needs including a Tesco supermarket, post office, doctor’s surgery, dental surgery and veterinary surgery. Additionally, there are several public houses and restaurants along with Infant and Junior Schools.

The larger regional centres of Basingstoke and Reading are within reasonable driving distance and provide a much greater range.

Directions

From Junction 5 of the M3 take the turning off the roundabout towards Hook and at the next roundabout turn right signposted towards Hartley Wintney. Follow this road, continuing straight over the next two roundabouts onto the Reading Road towards Rotherwick, Heckfield and Mattingley. Continue for a few miles entering the village of Mattingley, turn left onto Bottle Lane just after The Leather Bottle Public House. The entrance to West End Cottage will then be found on the right hand side after approximately a mile.
