Situation

Well Cottage occupies a glorious elevated position in the heart of the West Sussex downland village of Stoughton and close to St Mary’s Church. Stoughton is one of the few South Downs villages offering delightfully rural surroundings in peace and tranquillity. The village also has a popular pub - The Hare & Hounds.

Stoughton is almost equidistant between Chichester and Petersfield where a broad range of leisure, cultural and shopping facilities may be found. The cathedral city of Chichester, about 8 miles to the south, has the renowned Festival Theatre, Pallant House Gallery, a fine selection of restaurants, multi-screen cinema and sports centre whilst Goodwood offers, horseracing and the annual Festival of Speed and Revival meetings.

Chichester has a railway station with services to London (Victoria) & Gatwick whilst Petersfield has a faster service to London (Waterloo).
