The historic county town of Lewes lies about 9 miles to the west and provides an excellent range of shops, restaurants and recreational facilities, together with a mainline train service to London (London Bridge/Victoria about 68 minutes). The coastal, business and entertainment centres of Eastbourne and Brighton & Hove are approximately 9 miles and 15 miles respectively. Glyndebourne is about 6 miles.


Travelling on the A27 from Lewes to Eastbourne, pass over the Beddingham flyover and past the turning to Firle. Continue on the A27 for about a mile, before turning left signposted to Laughton and Ripe. Just before Ripe, proceed over the small bridge and having passed a property on the right, known as Mill Farm, the driveway to Ashfield is the next on the right, immediately after a telegraph pole and opposite a property known as Greensands. Ashfield will be found at the end of the drive, on the left.
