A charming country house.

Common Cottage is a delightful detached family home which has been tastefully refurbished by the current owners yet retains enormous character and charm. The house offers light and spacious accommodation with the majority of principal rooms enjoying a bright southerly aspect over the gardens and woodland beyond.

The property boasts a beautifully appointed open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with several windows and bifold doors to the garden. A range of light coloured bespoke units with contrasting granite top, breakfast bar, AGA, and wooden parquet flooring with subtle, elegant lighting create a desirable environment. The triple aspect drawing room is comfortable and welcoming with a central fireplace fitted with a wood burning stove, French doors open onto the extensive gardens surrounding the house. There is also a useful study and a sunny conservatory with a west-facing aspect.

Upstairs are four generous double bedrooms, including the dual aspect master bedroom which has an ensuite shower room and a walk-in wardrobe. The modern family bathroom serves the other three bedrooms. The property also benefits from various usable outbuildings, including the utility room and cloakroom, and a stylishly fittedout games room, with a shower room, cloakroom and further space on the first floor.

This property has 2.5 acres of land.

Outside

The property is approached via a gravel driveway, which opens onto a spacious parking and turning area and provides access to the triple bay barn style garage. The cottage is surrounded by enchanting, extensive gardens, with expansive areas of lawns, shaded meadows with wildflowers and a pond. A large terrace runs across the rear and side of the house offering additional entertaining space. The gardens are bordered by woodland, creating a peaceful and secluded setting. There are also two large sheds, providing substantial garden storage and a summer house. There is also a 3-bay barn garage (no planning permission).
