The beautiful surrounding countryside is very popular for walking and riding and the area has all the advantages of rural outdoor space combined with accessibility to larger towns and transport links. The property is about half way between Newbury and Basingstoke so is in an excellent location for commuting, either by direct train service from Newbury into London Paddington or Basingstoke into London Waterloo, or by car via the M4 or M3. There is a wide choice of highly rated schools in the area including Cheam, Elstree, Horris Hill, Bradfield College and Downe House.

Directions

From Newbury, proceed south on the A339 towards Basingstoke. Follow this road for about 5 miles to Headley. Continue through Headley and take the left turning into Galley lane, just before Cheam school. Follow this road to the end and at the T-junction turn left into Hillhouse Lane. Continue along this lane keeping right as it bends around to the right, and take the first small right hand turn into a no-through road with a 20mph speed limit. Scarletts Cottage can be found after a short distance on the left hand side.
