The Cedars is an attractive property that features exceptionally light and airy accommodation arranged over two floors, and occupies an elevated hillside position that takes full advantage of the breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
The accommodation flows from the welcoming reception hall and includes a spacious light-filled drawing room with sliding glass doors opening onto a sunny south-west facing paved terrace, the perfect place in which to enjoy the far-reaching views towards the Northumberland National Park. This room also features a fireplace with an impressive timber surround, fitted with a wood-burning stove. Adjoining the drawing room is a dual-aspect dining room, also with sliding glass doors onto the terrace, and both rooms combine to provide superb entertaining space.
Additionally on the ground floor, there is a spacious kitchen, fitted with a wide range of units, a bedroom with an en suite bathroom, two further bedrooms and a bathroom. Occupying the first floor is the generously proportioned principal bedroom boasting stunning views, an impressive vaulted ceiling extensive fitted storage, and a large en suite shower room.
To the front of the property there is a single garage, as well as walled gardens with an area of lawn and an elevated paved terrace area, providing a wonderful vantage point to take in the far-reaching views across the 0.6 acre field and countryside beyond. The property also benefits from a parking area for 2-3 cars. To the rear of the house, is a further area of lawned garden bordered by timber fencing.
The property occupies a picturesque location on a private lane, just outside the small market town of Rothbury. The town provides a range of everyday amenities including a small supermarket, several shops including two bakeries, a butcher/deli and a chemist, restaurants, cafés, a community hospital, and a swimming pool and gym. There is also a primary and a secondary school in Rothbury, as well as a primary school in the neighbouring village of Thropton. Rothbury sits on the edge of the magnificent Northumberland National Park, with its miles of rolling countryside and excellent walking, cycling and riding routes, while other nearby leisure facilities include Rothbury Golf Club.
Road connections nearby include the A697, which provides routes towards the Scottish borders and Morpeth, while the A1 is also within easy reach, providing access towards Newcastle upon Tyne.
From Morpeth, take the A1 north and join the A697 heading north towards Rothbury. After seven miles, take the exit signposted for the B6344/Rothbury and then follow the B6344 (becoming BN6341) for five and a half miles, into Rothbury. Once through the village, after half a mile towards Thropton, take a hidden sharp right hand turn onto a private lane and follow around to the right. At the top, you will find the property on your left-hand side.Read all
