Ivy Cottage is a beautifully presented Grade II Listed property which has been meticulously renovated and extended to create a clever mix of modern living and period charm. The original house is believed to date back to the 17th Century and was originally a butcher and bakery. The contemporary tiled extension was added by the current owners in 2010. The property is ideally situated in the centre of the popular village of Preston Candover. The house offers five good bedrooms and a wealth of entertaining space with the added benefit of an outbuilding and garage and ideally designed for modern family living.
The oak framed entrance area leads to the character sitting room which has exposed brick work, beams and an open fire. The open plan kitchen/dining area has high ceilings throughout and is lovely and light from bi-fold doors that open onto the terrace and garden. The country-style kitchen has wooden painted units, granite worktops, a double Butlers sink, integrated dish washer and range cooker with tiled splashback. There is also a kitchen island unit and ample space for a large dining table. The drawing room has a feature inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove and leads into the beamed family room with a wood burner and historical bread oven. Adjacent is a partially glazed garden room/study, with underfloor heating, and stairs up to the mezzanine level. There is also a convenient utility room and rear access door. Access to the cellar, bathroom and two double bedrooms is off the drawing room.
A second staircase leads to a spacious master bedroom with garden views, integrated storage and a modern tiled en suite with a shower plus two further bedrooms and a family bathroom.
A cobbled driveway leads through a wooden gate into the generous garden with a parking area, outbuilding and garage. A large paved terrace wraps around the kitchen/dining area, great for al-fresco dining and the remainder of the garden is laid to lawn with mature shrubs, trees and hedging.
