Location Mearan is located in the Hamlet of Pubil at the western most end of beautiful Glenlyon. Glenlyon has a reputation as being one of the most stunning glens in Scotland and has the added advantage, of being accessible to Scotland’s central belt.

The house allows one to explore and enjoy the beauty of Glenlyon and its surrounding hills including some 20 Munro’s with the hills behind giving views to nearby Rannoch Moor, Glencoe and Ben Nevis in the distance. Fishing for trout and salmon is available on both the River Lyon as well as a nearby loch. For the wildlife enthusiast there are a great variety of birds including, buzzard, sparrow hawks, wagtails, oystercatchers, plovers, meadow pipets, eagles, woodcocks, housemartins and red deer.

The nearby Hydro Electric station ensures that the road is kept open throughout the winter.

Directions

Directions From Glasgow or Edinburgh take the way to Stirling from which one joins the A85 to Callander, Strathyre, Lochearnhead and on to Killin. From Killin take the road north of Loch Tay and after 4 miles take the Ben Lawers road over the hills to Glenlyon and Bridge of Balgie. From Bridge of Balgie, Pubil is 10 miles further up the glen and please note that many of these roads are single track.

Alternatively, one can travel the road from Aberfeldy joining Glenlyon at the historic village of Fortingall and from there one continues up the Glenlyon road to Pubil.
