Hillcrest has been designed to take full advantage of the light and space of its hillside setting, yet is still within walking distance of the village centre. From the front door, the reception hall runs through the heart of the ground floor and provides access through double glazed doors onto the rear gardens. To the front, the south-facing sitting room has a modern fire place and a large bay window offering far reaching views across the garden and countryside beyond. Double doors lead into the spacious family/dining area, again with a bay window filling the space with light throughout the day.
This dual aspect room provides an ideal setting for formal or informal dining, as it opens into a stylish fitted kitchen with integral hobs and ovens and a customised island with polished wood surface and wine coolers. The streamline finish and bi-folding doors which lead to the terrace, make for the perfect open-plan living space, ideal for contemporary living. There is also planning permission granted for a rear garden room extention - see North Yorkshire Moors National Parks planning portal - NYM/2016/0164/FL
The ground floor also includes a study/bedroom 5 with views across the rear gardens and a separate utility with a shower, providing flexible and independent living space for family or guests. Rising to the first floor there are four further bedrooms, all offering light and open views, plus a family bathroom.
Set behind the privacy of mature trees and hedging, the property is approached via a wide driveway providing ample off road parking as well as access to the detached garage, with additional workshop space to the rear. To the front, side and rear, the gardens have been designed to capture the best of this hillside setting with lawns, borders, shrubs and mature trees providing visual variety all year round. To the rear, the open garden rises up to the open countryside beyond, with breath-taking views.
Hillcrest is situated just a short walk from the centre of the extremely popular and pretty village of Osmotherley in the North York Moors National Park. The village is surrounded by country footpaths and bridleways, including the Lyke Wake Walk and Cleveland Way long distance paths which run through the village. There is a choice of village pubs and cafes, a village store and Post Office, three churches with an active village hall, as well as nursery and primary schools; with a full set of amenities found in the nearby market town of Northallerton. There are also excellent state and independent primary and secondary schools in the area.
For commuting, the A19 and A1(M) give access to the business centres of Teesside, Leeds and York, and the national motorway network. The railway station at nearby Northallerton also offers regular services to Middlesbrough, Manchester Airport, York, Leeds and Liverpool, with express services to London Kings Cross in two and half hours, whilst regular flights are available from Durham Tees Valley and Leeds Bradford airports.
Continue north up the A1M to Junction 49. At the roundabout take the A168 east for approximately 6.7 miles; join the A19 northbound and continue for 10 miles before taking the A684 signposted Northallerton.
Double back on the A684 over the A19 then turn right onto Clack Lane. In the centre of Osmotherley, turn left onto North End, then, after a third of a mile, turn left onto Ruebery Lane; Hillcrest is the first property on the right.Read all
