Millworth House is a substantial modern property with brick and rendered elevations under a slate roof, with leaded light windows. The glazed porch opens to the staircase hall with a light oak staircase to the first floor. The drawing room is to the left, an impressive room with wooden panelling and a stone fireplace adding character. The next room is the games room, sizable enough for a full sized snooker table.
The study looks out to the front, and the dining room, with glazed door, is at the side with double doors through to the kitchen/breakfast room. This is fitted with a range of oak cabinets, with peninsular unit separating the breakfast area. Adjacent is the utility room. The conservatory has a chequer tiled floor and fine views down the garden.
On the first floor the master suite is dual aspect and has a very generous en-suite bathroom with separate shower and sauna. There are five further bedrooms, with a Jack and Jill bathroom between bedrooms 2 and 3, and a further family bathroom.
This property has 0.52 acres of land.
The property is approached from the road over a private drive, leading to a brick paved parking and turning area at the front. This area is screened behind a brick and wrought iron railing fence with laurel hedging. There is access via gates around both sides of the house to the rear, where a large brick paved terrace lies outside the conservatory. There is a raised circular pond and a covered dining pergola nearby.
The garden is mainly lawn, with some lovely mature trees, and a delightful pond at the far end of the garden. The boundaries are a mix of hedge and fence.
Millworth House lies within the parish of Smarden, about a mile north east of the village centre. It is one of the prettiest and most historic villages in the Weald with three pubs, village shops, a primary school and a church. Pluckley is equally well served.
Headcorn has a wide variety of local shops together with a mainline station serving Charing Cross/Cannon Street in approximately 60 minutes. Cranbrook, Tenterden, Ashford and Maidstone all provide an excellent and comprehensive range of educational, recreational and shopping facilities.
Ashford International offers services to St Pancras in 37 minutes via the High Speed line, as well as providing access to the Continent. Junctions 8/9 of the M20 both provide communication links to Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Kent International Airports, the Channel Tunnel, Ashford International and Ebbsfleet International.
From the M20 (Junction 8) take the A20 heading towards Charing. At the roundabout on entering Charing, take the third exit and remain on the A20 towards Ashford. After 400 yards, take the second right turn into Station Road (signposted Pluckley and Smarden). Drive through Pluckley, and then continue for just over 2 miles and the property will be seen on the right hand side, behind a brick and railing wall with laurel hedging.
