A superbly converted Grade II listed, 17th Century barn providing outstanding accommodation
- Download Brochure
A mile from Ludlow, on the south eastern side, off Foldgate Lane and therefore highly accessible to all that the town has to offer. This is a superb opportunity to own a stunningly renovated timber framed barn conversion that provides excellent accommodation arranged over two floors and with a great deal of potential in the adjoining activity barn to create an annex or home office space. Since being converted in 2003, this has been used as a very successful holiday let and retreat centre, capable of sleeping up to 18 people, but would make a wonderful home providing fantastic well planned accommodation suiting the needs of modern living whilst at the same time providing great charm and character.
The front door opens into the hallway which leads into a large kitchen / dining room with doors out into the garden to the rear. There are two very well proportioned reception rooms at either end of the barn, each having a wood burning stove and both with doors that open to the outside. The ground floor also has a bedroom with en-suite shower, although this could be adapted for a large utility / laundry room if required as there is no shortage of bedrooms. There are five bedrooms on the first floor, three of which are en-suite and two which share a bathroom. Stairs from the kitchen lead up to a seating area with a glazed roof which is south facing.
Owl Barn This is the adjoining barn which has been converted for use as an activity barn and has a large open plan room (5m x 12m) off which are a bedroom, wet room and small kitchen. This space has great scope for home office space, studio or conversion to an annex - subject to planning and listed building consents.
The driveway from Foldgate Lane serves both Foldgate Farm Barn and Foldgate Farm which is a beautiful grade II listed farmhouse believed to be one of the oldest brick buildings in the county. The open courtyard is divided to provide plenty of space for each property (please see the plan that accompanies these particulars).
There is a courtyard area to the front of the property designated by the planting of the trees and plenty of parking to the side of the barn. The garden to the rear of the house has a south elevation and is enclosed by an open fronted stone barn. There is a further open fronted barn to the western boundary and these enclose the garden giving it a great deal of privacy and protection.
We wish to advise interested parties that the surrounding land is being developed, but as part of the scheme, great sensitivity has been given to the layout to protect the outlook.
From Ludlow town centre, proceed down Old Street and at the bottom, turn left into Temeside and continue until the road bends to the left at which point turn right and follow the road along the river to the T junction. At this point, turn right and at the brow of the hill take the first left into Foldgate Lane. Proceed up here and you will find the entrance into Foldgate Barn on the right hand side.Read all
