Unique contemporary house in a gated riverside location

Dating back to 1892 and once the residence of the Duchess of Sutherland, Sutherland Grange enjoys a picturesque riverside location.

Dorney View lies adjacent to the main period building and has been beautifully modernised and redesigned to create a contemporary property, offering the ultimate in bright and spacious living space. It has been designed to take full advantage of the wonderful outlook towards the river, particularly evident in the sitting room and dining room where full-height windows and sliding glazed doors showcase the view. The property benefits from its own private garden and garage, in addition to the use of the communal riverside gardens and gated parking.

A particular feature of the property is the individually designed kitchen/dining/sitting room that boasts a comprehensive range of sleek units, a central island and integral appliances. The ground floor accommodation further comprises two bedrooms, a bathroom, utility room and a cloakroom. The upper floor is host to the master suite comprising a bedroom with wonderful river views, ‘his and her’ dressing rooms and a shower room.

Outside

Sutherland Grange is set behind electronically operated gates that open onto a driveway leading to a parking area. In addition to a garage set within a block, Dorney View benefits from additional parking. The private garden features an excellent terrace, providing superb outdoor space in which to enjoy the river view, with the remaining garden laid to lawn. There is also a private walled garden to the front of the property. The communal riverside garden include shared moorings and a launch ramp.

Situation

Sutherland Grange enjoys an idyllic location on the banks of the River Thames, a short distance from Windsor Marina. It is conveniently situated for the historic town of Windsor with its extensive shopping and leisure facilities, and the town’s two railways stations are key for those wishing to commute. The M4 provides access to the national motorway network. Attractions for all the family are plentiful and include Windsor Castle and the renowned Long Walk, leading from the castle to the impressive Copper Horse statue and providing a pleasant three-mile walk. There are world-class golf courses on the doorstep, horse racing at the nearby Windsor Racecourse, and spectacular parks including the magnificent Windsor Great Park that offers around 4,800 acres to explore.

Windsor is also fortunate to be in close proximity to some of the country’s finest schools in both the independent and state sectors, including St. George’s, Upton House, Windsor Boys and Windsor Girls in Windsor, St. George’s, Papplewick, Heathfield and St. Mary’s in Ascot, Lambrook in Winkfield Row, St. John’s Beaumont in Old Windsor, and Holyport College (a free school sponsored by Eton College).
