A beautiful 3 bedroom period cottage of over 1,800 sq ft with wonderful views
Hatton Cottage is a delightful family home, located in the village of Wildhern and surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside. The property is full of charming original features, with welcoming and spacious accommodation.
On the ground floor the kitchen/breakfast room is well fitted and features a range cooker as well as a built-in gas hob. The sitting room is full of character with exposed timber beams and an impressive original brick fireplace, which now houses a woodburning stove. There is also a family room with doors to the garden, as well as a useful utility room and a downstairs shower room.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom with shower. All the bedrooms have wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.
The property is approached across a gravel driveway which provides parking for several cars, and there is a double garage, with a room above useful for additional storage.
The garden is beautifully maintained and presented with a large area of lawn and a number of flower beds, mature shrubs, trees and hedges. There is a terrace area outside the kitchen, and further down the garden is an additional terrace, shaded by a tree, the perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquility.
Wildhern is a small village located on the edge of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and as such is surrounded by miles of rolling countryside, perfect for walking, cycling and riding.
Wildhern itself has a village hall, playing fields, floodlit tennis court and childrens play area and there are several excellent pubs in the local area. There is a village shop in nearby Hurstbourne Tarrant, and the market town of Andover provides a wide range of shopping and leisure facilities.
Communications in the area are very good, with trains from Andover into London Waterloo, and good access to the A303/M3 and A34/M4 linking with the national road network. There are a number of excellent schools nearby, including Hurstbourne Tarrant primary school, Farleigh, Horris Hill, Downe House and Marlborough College.
From Newbury follow the A343 south towards Andover. After passing through the village of Hurstbourne Tarrant, go up the hill and take the first right turn. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 miles until you come to a small crossroads. Turn left towards Wildhern and the entrance to Hatton Cottage will be after a short distance on your right-hand side.Read all
