Strutt & Parker’s property accounting and taxation Service offers a one-stop shop for all aspects of financial management.

Our specialist accountants, bookkeepers and tax advisors tailor the service we provide on a client-by-client basis to provide an efficient, cost-effective response to the specific requirements outlined in our initial consultation.

The main client accounting department is based at Chelmsford with teams also located at Banchory and Stamford. The team of over 25 uses the latest technology and IT infrastructure to maintain bookkeeping records and process transactions. Every Strutt & Parker office is linked to the main accounting centre in Chelmsford (with the Scottish offices linked to the accounting team in Banchory).

Integrated specialist support

Each client is allocated a dedicated accountant supported by a team of bookkeepers. Our staff have experience in all areas of rural finance and our service is designed to ensure both compliance with statutory requirements and value-added management information through regular reporting.

Our experienced property accountants are also available for one-off consultancy advice on specific projects, software installation and restructuring.

Our Taxation Department uniquely combines rural tax specialists with considerable Inland Revenue and private practice experience. The department is small enough to offer a bespoke and personal service at a reasonable cost, whilst being large enough to have very broad experience  and decades of exposure to a wide range of rural taxation issues.

We have an excellent online accounting system called Greentree. This is a fully integrated financial accounting system, which incorporates rent and tenancy details with electronic banking systems and Microsoft Office suite for reporting and administration. One of the key benefits is that you can log in at any time and see a live status of your account.

Service that goes further

Working in close liaison with our Accounting Department, our team of taxation specialists can deal with all farm, property and personal tax issues.

We can also take the strain out of dealing with tax on let land and buildings and farming businesses. Our clients are sometimes surprised and relieved that we also handle personal assets and family trusts alongside disposals of land, buildings, chattels and other assets. We work closely with our Minerals and Waste Department on taxation issues relating to mineral royalties. We also specialise in compulsory purchase, maximising your private residence exemption and inheritance tax mitigation.
