Property Assistant- National Country House department
I joined Lane Fox in circa 1996 and transferred on the purchase of Lane Fox by Strutt &Parker in 2007.
The job is varied, dealing with the preparation of marketing material for various selection of property on a daily basis, working in a great team and having lots of fun in the process.
Associate Partner- Resource and Energy
Having joined in July 2012, I was looking for a company that had a diverse client base to develop energy efficiency projects across a number of sectors. Strutt & Parker also wanted to create an energy team that was both technical and strategic in terms of consultancy advice and this suited my direction.
Our multi-disciplinary team has grown and includes disciplines from engineering, land management, project management and commercial surveying.
Rural Surveyor- Associate
Having previously worked for Barclays Bank PLC, I chose to change my career direction and decided that I wanted to be a Chartered Surveyor and to work with all aspects of Rural Property. I therefore completed an RICS registered Post Graduate Diploma at Harper Adams University College and joined Strutt & Parker immediately thereafter.
I chose Strutt & Parker as I believed them to be a high quality national brand, with strong presence in my local area and a firm that I knew I would feel proud to work for.
Having worked previously as an Estate Agent in my early career, I decided to switch to the recruitment industry. Using my property experience, I started a career as a recruitment consultant. A few years later I changed paths slightly and worked for Hamptons International as an internal recruiter. When Strutt & Parker approached me I jumped at the opportunity to help the business expand and be part of its growing success by designing and developing the in-house recruitment function.
When I first joined, I was taken on as a secretary but always said I wanted to take on more - I didn’t realise at the time how much I would love the job.
Because I always enjoyed the job so much it wasn’t difficult to do more and take on more responsibility. Over time I have worked my way up the ladder and am now running the Harpenden office. This has been great because although the job roles have changed a lot with all sorts of new regulations, I have done every part of the job at some point which helps me have a much better understanding about what is involved.
I have been incredibly fortunate with the people that I have worked for and supported me along the way. I also have a wonderful team around me; we are more like family than colleagues and we all go out of our way to help and support each other.
Associate- National Estate Agency
After gaining work experience at three National agencies, of which Strutt & Parker was one, I joined the firm in 2011 when they offered me a great opportunity to work in my chosen field and location.
With a passion for sales and the Southwest, they were the only firm I wanted to apply and work for, knowing I’d be able to put the knowledge I gained in my work experience to great use and add to the firm’s success.
PA/Administrator, Asian desk
When Strutt & Parker decided to develop the Asian Market, I wanted to help setup the Asian Desk.
Having lived in Hong Kong for 15 years and with an understanding of the Strutt & Parker brand, I joined the firm in November 2015.
National Head of Tax
I qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser when I was with Price Waterhouse Coopers and whilst with them started to specialise in private clients, farms & landed estates. When the chance of joining Strutt & Parker came along, with their impressive client base of farms and landed estates, it was an opportunity too good to miss.
In 1994 I moved from Reading with my wife and family to Sussex and joined the Lewes office, where there has been a dedicated tax department since 1936.
Graduate Farming Consultant
I joined the Strutt & Parker farming team in Cambridge in January 2015 after gaining a 1st class degree in Agriculture. I am now assisting with the management of a number of contract farming agreements and over the past year, I have completed various Basic Payment and Countryside Stewardship applications on behalf of a large range of clients.
Strutt &Parker are supporting me through my training to become a fully qualified agronomist and I am also working towards becoming a Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers.
I really like the variety of work that I am involved in and working in such a dynamic and proactive team is thoroughly enjoyable.”
