Q2 2023

Strutt & Parker has announced the appointment of Tom McLaughlin as a senior director in its Rural department, working on strategic estate matters.

Tom joins the business with more than two decades of experience working within the rural property sector and will be based in the St Albans office. He has a proven track record in advising private and institutional clients on a diverse range of strategic rural asset matters, valuations, as well as overseeing diversification and development work. He is also regularly involved in dispute resolution, with a long track record of acting as a mediator in rural property and farming disputes, as well as enabling strategic and practical succession planning.

Jeremy Dawson, Head of Central Region at Strutt & Parker, said: “Tom’s arrival will allow us to develop the services we offer to our farming and landowning client base across the Central Region. We are in a period of accelerated change within the land management sector, so Tom’s background in strategic business planning and supporting clients through the challenges of devising new business models and succession planning will be invaluable. He also brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in dispute resolution, helping clients to reach practical and workable solutions.”

Tom McLaughlin, senior director at Strutt & Parker, said: “At the same time that landowners are facing the biggest shift in agricultural policy for decades there are also unprecedented opportunities across the rural property sector to optimise functionality and returns from land. I’m looking forward to working with new and existing Strutt & Parker clients to identify credible, enterprising solutions to the challenges they face by offering a fresh perspective.”
