The Game Fair 2012 is cancelled

Sadly the CLA have had to cancel this year’s Game Fair due to adverse weather and ground conditions.

They were forecast 36 hours of drying conditions, which they have had, and the CLA hoped that this would have been enough to dry out the waterlogged ground. Unfortunately, the benefit has been negligible and, as such, it would prove impossible to allow the 3,000-4,000 vehicle movements still required to complete the remainder of the show build.

The CLA has made every effort over the past few weeks to protect the integrity of the ground to enable the event to go ahead. The weather forecast is predicting significant further rainfall in the next 48 hours, and the situation looks set to only deteriorate from this point on.

This knowledge combined with increased health and safety risks during the build and for the public during the three days of the Game Fair has led the CLA to the point where they do not believe they can deliver the show.

Strutt & Parker is a corporate partner of the Game Fair Theatre and Game Fair Radio. We were looking forward to hosting our annual drinks party from our stand and giving show visitors a chance to chat to our property consultants on all aspects of land and rural property ownership.
