Elmbridge Borough Council has sold a 7.8 acre residential development site in Walton on Thames to London Square on a subject to planning basis.

The site is currently home to the Stompond Lane Sports Ground, which is being relocated and redeveloped by the council.

London Square proposes to deliver a development of family homes at the site in addition to a crèche and GP surgery.

Ash Griffiths, partner in London residential development and investment at Strutt & Parker, who acted on behalf of Elmbridge Borough Council, said: “The Borough of Elmbridge saw a rise of 29% in residential prices in the preceding year before marketing which marks it out as an attractive development location.  Demand for houses remains high due to its close links to London Waterloo and peaceful environment and therefore competition for a well located development opportunity like this was particularly high.”

Elmbridge Borough Council was represented by Strutt & Parker.
