    Ascot Racecourse has been in operation since 1711 when Queen Anne rode out from Windsor Castle and declared this area of East Cote the perfect place for her horses to run full stretch. In 2011, Ascot Racecourse celebrated its tercentenary.

    • Tittenhurst Park in Ascot was once the home of John Lennon and Yoko Ono and afterwards Ringo Starr. The last Beatles photo session took place at Tittenhurst Park in August 1969 and these images were used for the front and back cover of their 1970 ‘Hey Jude’ album.

Ascot Area

Renowned for its world-famous racecourse and Royal meeting the Ascot area is noted for its ultra-prime property ranging from period country houses, to bespoke modern mansions. Residents are attracted to the rural characteristics of the area which is surrounded by green swathes of Windsor Great Park, Virginia Water Lake and the Savill Garden.

Surrounding Villages

  • Winkfield
    3 miles to the North of Ascot is the pretty rural village of Winkfield with larger country houses, fantastic country pubs and a large number of equine properties. The Royal Berkshire Polo Club is a 230-acre Polo estate on the edge of the village.
  • Sunninghill
    Just to the South of Ascot is the village of Sunninghill with it’s popular high street with a collection of local shops and restaurants and the highly regarded Carpenters Arms pub.
  • Englefield Green
    Located to the East of Ascot, at the South East corner of Windsor great park. Englefield Green is home to Royal Holloway, University of London and borders the town of Egham and the village of Virginia Water.
