The land is situated immediately to the North of Brinkley and south of Burrough Green. The arable land is generally well laid out with level or gently undulating fields that are regular in shape and of a good size.

The farm land is high quality being classified Grade 2 with soil belonging to the Ashley series, a clay loam over chalk. The land is fully drained and was enhanced by a new schemes in 2016 and 2018. There are blocks of woodland on both parcels, mainly stocked with broadleaf species. The largest of this is Park Wood, a lowland ancient semi-natural woodland that is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The land at Brinkley and Burrough Green is situated in a rural location in East Cambridgeshire in an area well known for thoroughbred stud farms and other equestrian properties as well as large scale arable farming.The centre of Newmarket is only 5½ miles, with the regional centre of Cambridge just 15 miles and the A11 5¼ miles.
