Lynton Cottage dates back to the early 17th century when it was part of The Old Court House. Lying between the village pub and ancient church, footpaths lead straight into the beautiful countryside. It also has the advantage of being only a stones throw away from Soho Farmhouse. Behind the pretty cottage style exterior, one is constantly surprised by the height of the ceilings with a mix of period and modern features throughout the house. Walking in to the open plan kitchen area, light floods in from the south facing garden through French doors. Descending two wide steps is a further area currently used as a dining room / playroom which benefits from bifold doors which open up to create a seamless transition into the rose covered, walled, courtyard garden. Stepping through the ancient doorway to a the original part of the house, the reception room has high ceilings and an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. The stairs open on to a generous landing with a double bedroom to left and right. It then leads to a family bathroom, third double bedroom which has an adjacent shower room. A staircase rises from the landing to two additional double bedrooms offering a quiet retreat at the top of the house with views over the picturesque rolling Cotswolds.
Outside
The rear courtyard garden provides an outdoor sanctuary with a south-easterly aspect and an interesting split level design with stone walling to boundaries. Raised beds are filled with a pretty selection of flowering plants and fragrant climbers decorate the walls. There is ample space for outdoor entertaining and relaxation with direct access from both the kitchen and dining room.
