An elegant conversion of Grade II Listed Stables, set in a private position with 1.24 acres

The property

Situated at the end of Church Lane and originally part of the stable block for Dingley Hall, the Stables were converted in the late 1970’s and underwent further renovation in 1997. The building dates from the 18th century and is built of mellow ironstone with a Welsh slate roof. Backing onto 150 acres of stunning parkland, this property has been beautifully renovated throughout.

Ground floor accommodation is exceptional and consists of an impressive entrance hall with flagstone floor and bare ashlar stonework, a large drawing room with a stone fireplace with log burner and French doors, a study/ office with the original stable door forming one wall, a family room with magnificent wall to ceiling fitted bookcase and cabinets and a large breakfast kitchen with two sets of French doors opening onto the garden terrace. The kitchen, which has a high vaulted ceiling, has bespoke Chalon units and an oil fired Aga with a large central island and breakfast area. In addition, there is a larder, utility room, boot room and two cloakrooms.

Upstairs, there is an unusually spacious sitting area on the landing with intricate exposed timber beams. The principal bedroom has built in wardrobes, and a large en suite with a shower and bath. Bedroom 2 has an en suite shower room and built in wardrobes and there is a run of a further three bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Outside

The original formal entrance to The Old Stables is to the south side but is no longer accessible to vehicles. The new driveway leads around to a more discreet and private entrance to the north side with gravelled parking in front of the two garages. A gravel path then leads around, via a courtyard garden with box parterre and lavender border to a terrace adjacent to the kitchen. A more formal lawn area stretches to the north and, beyond this, is woodland within which is situated a Game larder.

Location

Dingley is a small village on the borders of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire and is surrounded by beautiful countryside with stunning views in all directions across the adjacent valleys. Communication links are excellent with Market Harborough, just two miles away, having a frequent train service to London St Pancras in around an hour, and a strong network of road links including the A14, M1, M6 and A1 all within easy reach.

Directions

Proceed east out of Market Harborough along the A4304 crossing over the A6 roundabout and following the A427 east. After about a mile you will reach the village of Dingley and take a left along Church Lane following it to its conclusion where you will find the Old Stables on the right hand side.
