Great views, great village
Hungerford Cottages is a small terrace of three cottages, No.1 being at the southern end. Listed Grade II, the cottage has a typical Cotswold façade with mullioned windows. The front door opens into a well-proportioned sitting room with an open fireplace and beyond lies a good-sized kitchen/dining room. Leading off is a utility/conservatory with a WC. There are three double bedrooms and a bathroom on the first and second floors. 1 Hungerford Cottages has excellent views over the neighbouring countryside.
Outside
The driveway leads up to a parking area in front of a single garage. The gardens are a good size and lie to both the front and rear of the cottage. They include lawns and mixed borders and there is a south-facing terrace area by the conservatory, again with wonderful views.
Situation
Compton Abdale is a pretty village in the heart of the Cotswolds. Northleach is a traditional market town about 4 miles to the east, and Cirencester is 11 miles to the south. The main regional centre is Cheltenham, 10 miles away, which has excellent shopping and other facilities. Other regional centres include Gloucester and Oxford. Communications are good, with the A40 being about a mile to the north, linking Cheltenham and Oxford. From Cirencester the A417 dual carriageway leads to Junction 15 of the M4 at Swindon.
Directions
At the Northleach roundabout with the A429 Fosse Way, take the A40 west towards Cheltenham. Ignore the first left turning to Yanworth and Compton Abdale and take the next left for Compton Abdale and Withington. Drop down the hill into the village and Hungerford Cottages will be found on the right hand side – No.1 is the end cottage.
