A superb village home with attached barn offering further potential

Riverside is believed to date from the 17th century and is now a very attractive part timbered home nestled in the heart of this pretty village. Riverside has been home to the current owner for over 28 years. The house offers excellent and extremely flexible accommodation arranged over two floors.

The principal reception rooms are located to the front and are notably light and airy with high ceilings and large windows. Riverside retains a host of period features including exposed wall and ceiling timbers and feature fireplaces (one with wood burning stove). The kitchen/breakfast room and formal dining room are located to the rear and overlook the delightful landscaped gardens which are a particular feature of Riverside and of a size and quality rarely found in a village property.

To the first floor are four characterful bedrooms. The master boasts dual aspect windows flooding the room with natural light. There are two family bathrooms (one with separate shower). Riverside has two staircases making it extremely flexible accommodation whilst the attached barn has planning permission for holiday accommodation.

This property has 0.37 acres of land.

Outside

Riverside is approached through a gated entrance onto a private driveway with plenty of parking to the rear of the property and in the enclosed courtyard to the side of the property. There is a pretty fore-garden and a large landscaped rear garden with mature lawn, a magnolia tree and a further kitchen garden sheltered behind mature hedging. The attached barn and a further detached barn are located to the side and rear of Riverside and offer excellent potential for further accommodation, studio, workshop, garaging or as offices for those looking to work from home (subject to consents).

Situation

Riverside is situated in the heart of Eardisland which is a beautiful Herefordshire village on the Black & White Trail, and has been described as one of the prettiest villages in the Midlands. The village has two public houses, a village hall and community shop. A little further afield is the market town of Leominster which provides a variety of everyday facilities. Ludlow to the north is a delightful South Shropshire market town, famed for its fine restaurants, interesting architecture and vibrant festivals. Communications in the area are excellent with good road links to Leominster and Hereford, both with railway stations.

Directions

From Ludlow proceed south on the A49 to Leominster. Once in Leominster follow the A44 through the town. At Bengry Motors bear left on the A44 signposted to Monkland. Proceed through the village of Monkland and after a further 2 miles turn right at the crossroads signposted to Eardisland and Pembridge. Continue into the village and just before the bridge, Riverside can be found on the right indicated by a name plaque and our For Sale board
