Manisty Cottage is an attractive Grade II listed cottage dating back to the 15th Century with later additions. The cottage has a fascinating history with part of the building being used as the Cosy Café, Grocers and Confectioners between 1937-1951 and from about 1860 it was occupied by a succession of tailors. There is a wealth of character throughout the cottage with exposed beams, timbers and brickwork. The spacious beamed sitting room has a large Inglenook fireplace with a bread oven and opens out into the dining room with enjoys views over the garden. The kitchen/breakfast room has a good range of white painted units under granite work surfaces, integrated appliances and a stone floor. Completing the downstairs accommodation there is a family room, utility room and a cloakroom. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms with the main bedroom benefitting from a vaulted ceiling and a feature brick fireplace. There is a study and two family bath/shower rooms. There is a further double bedroom on the second floor.
The partly walled south facing rear garden is a particular feature of the cottage and has been attractively landscaped. Footpaths radiate from the village providing excellent walks into the countryside and along the Basingstoke Canal which flows by the northern edge of the village providing wonderful towpath walks.
