A charming and attractive country house with an extensive garden and far reaching views
Sparrow House is a charming country house set in beautiful gardens, surrounded by stunning undulating countryside and enjoying fabulous distant views. This wonderful rural setting beautifully complements its convenient proximity to Newbury, and all the area has to offer. The original section of the house provides the charm and extensions over the years have made it a wonderful size and practical for the modern lifestyle. The house is entered via a warm and welcoming reception hall with tiled flooring and an original fireplace. The property focuses around the fabulous open-plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen, which has space for a large family dining table, as well as a wood burning stove and French doors opening onto the garden. The kitchen offers plenty of storage with bespoke cabinetry, a central island and a range cooker. The utility is directly off the kitchen and also provides access to the garden. The 24ft drawing room benefits from wooden flooring, and an open fireplace. There is also a convenient cloakroom on the ground floor. The staircase leads up to a delightful open landing. There are four well-presented double bedrooms and a study with a built-in desk and storage, which could be used as a fifth bedroom if required. The generous principal bedroom and bedroom two benefit from en suite bathrooms. The remaining bedrooms are catered for by the family bathroom.
This property has 0.75 acres of land.
Outside
The house is set in peaceful grounds surrounded by Snelsmore Common and open countryside. Set at the end of a lane, there is parking in front of the detached double garage. The garden includes rolling lawns and benefits from an enclosed vegetable patch, and various established shrubs, mature trees and well-maintained hedgerows. The garden also includes extensive paved terracing which faces south west so ideal for enjoying afternoon and evening sun.
