Great village setting

Bridge Cottage is a detached four bedroom house which retains many original features and is well arranged for modern family living and entertaining. There are three well-proportioned reception rooms on the ground floor, including an excellent sized sitting room which has a log burner as well as French doors that lead directly onto the rear garden. A very useful study leads directly off from the dining room and has direct access to the front of the cottage. At the opposite end of the cottage is the farmhouse-style kitchen/breakfast room which has plenty of storage cupboards and an oil fired Aga. Upstairs, there are four good sized double bedrooms (all with fitted wardrobes), a shower room next to the main bedroom as well as a separate family bathroom and there are several loft hatches providing access to valuable additional storage.

Outside

Bridge Cottage is surrounded by its well-maintained gardens and the rear garden, which faces south west, provides a lovely secluded space in which to relax and entertain. There is a mature cooking apple tree, adjacent to the paved terrace, along with two garden sheds and a greenhouse. The front garden is immaculately kept and the footpath, flanked on one side by pleached apple trees, leads up to the front door. A large gravelled area provides ample parking for several cars.

Situation

Ashton Keynes is a desirable and thriving village that lies within the Cotswold Water Park, close to the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border. The village offers a great deal for all ages including a well-regarded primary school, village shop, pub (The White Hart Inn), village hall, playing fields and a parish church. Nearby Cirencester provides a very wide range of shops, boutiques and restaurants as well as several large supermarkets (Waitrose, Tesco, Lidl and Aldi). The main regional centres include Cheltenham, Oxford, Bath and Swindon and they are all within daily commuting distance.

Directions

From Cirencester, take the A419 south for Swindon and turn off after approximately 4.5 miles onto the Spine Road East (B4696) for Ashton Keynes. After 2.5 miles, upon reaching the junction, turn left signposted Ashton Keynes and take the left hand fork onto Coxs Hill. Turn left into Back Street and follow the road round into Kent End. Bridge Cottage can be found on the right hand side, opposite the entrance to Kent End Close. What3words: ///genetics.rides.mammoths
