Situation

The property is located to the west of Castletown Harbour in the county of Caithness. Castletown has a local array of services which the county towns of Thurso and Wick provide a large array of retail, educational, recreational and professional services. Thurso is approximately 6 miles to the west whilst Wick lies approximately 16 miles to the east.

Thurso is the nearest town and provides secondary education, hospital and medical services, recreational, retail, cultural and administrative facilities. Three main ferry services connect to the Orkney Islands on a daily basis – Scrabster, Gills Bay and John O’Groats.

Inverness, which is the capital of the highlands lies approximately 112 miles to the south and provides and extensive array of services including an international airport. Thurso and Wick are both connected to Inverness by rail and onwards to Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow & London.

The site is located very close the North Coast 500, a very popular new tourist route for driving or cycling. The route starts and finishes in Inverness and takes in the stunning scenery of the north west/north & east coast of the north of Scotland.

Directions

From Thurso take the A836 road east towards Castletown. The land is accessed via Battery Road, just to the west of Castletown on the left hand side, or via a track leading west from the harbour along the sea front.
