A charming period house with five bedrooms in the heart of an idyllic village

Bomber’s Cottage is a delightful, detached period home that offers a wealth of charming original details, including exposed timber beams, while outside there is an attractive garden and access to an allotment. The welcoming reception hall has a dual aspect and timber beams overhead and could be used as a study or snug. Further reception rooms include the comfortable sitting room with overhead and vertical beams and an original fireplace, while towards the rear, the formal dining room has wooden flooring, a fireplace and a dual aspect including French doors opening onto the garden. Adjoining the dining room, the kitchen provides fitted units to base and wall level as well as modern integrated appliances, including a double oven and a hob with an extractor hood. The utility room has further space for household storage and appliances. Two separate staircases provide access to the first floor accommodation, where there are five well-presented bedrooms. The generous principal bedroom has built-in storage and an en suite bathroom, while a further three bedrooms have their own washbasins. Also on the first floor is a family bathroom with an over-bath and Jack and Jill entrances from both first-floor landings.

Outside

At the front of the property, five-bar wooden gates open onto the driveway, which offers parking space and access to the detached single garage. A brick pathway leads to the front entrance through the splendid front garden with its hedgerow borders, lawns, mature trees and well-stocked flowerbeds. At the rear there is an area of paved terracing, a level lawn and borders with established shrubs, perennials and hedgerows. The property also has access to an allotment at the rear, providing space for growing fruit and vegetables in a shared community environment.
