A delightful Grade II Listed cottage in an idyllic village setting

Green Cottage is a charming Grade II Listed property, set in a highly desirable position overlooking the green in the small village of Lurgashall. The cottage, which dates from the 17th century, has plenty of splendid period details including timber beams to the walls and ceilings and an original fireplace.

The main reception room is the well-proportioned sitting room, which has an impressive inglenook fireplace fitted with a woodburning stove. Partially in-filled vertical timbers separate the sitting room from the dining room which create an open-plan feel to the living space. The dining room has wooden parquet flooring and a dual aspect, overlooking the south-facing rear garden. The kitchen also overlooks the garden to the rear and includes terracotta floor tiles, wooden units and worktops, an Aga and space for all the necessary appliances.

Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, one of which has fitted storage. There is also a study, which could be used as a fourth bedroom if required, as well as a family bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Outside

At the front of the cottage there is a pleasant garden with views across the picturesque village green. There is an area of lawn, well-stocked flowerbeds with various shrubs and a brick pathway leading to the front entrance. At the side there is a gravel driveway which leads to a garage at the rear of the plot, with further parking in front. The rear garden includes paved terracing at the back of the house, border flowerbeds, a shed and an area of lawn, with access to community allotments beyond.
