The village of Croyde, with its renowned surfing beach has a number of pubs, restaurants and shops suitable for everyday amenities. The renowned gastro-pub, The Rock, is about 1 ½ miles away in Georgeham, whilst more extensive shopping can be found in the nearby towns of Braunton and Barnstaple.

There is excellent schooling in the area. Of note is West Buckland School at Barnstaple, which is close by with a daily bus service from Croyde. The school is well-respected and offers nursery, preparatory and senior education for children from the ages of 3 to 18. The property is also within the catchment area for the sought after Georgeham Primary School, approximately 1.5 miles away.

As well as being a world class family beach, Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton Sands are also renowned for some of the best surf in the country. Backing onto the Atlantic, a good swell can produce line after line of beautiful long slow rollers that prove to be an irresistible draw for long boarders from all over the country.

In addition to surfing there are many other sporting activities that take place on Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton Sands beaches; kitesurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding to name a few. Saunton Golf Club is nearby and is regarded as one of the best links courses in the country.

The cathedral city of Exeter, approximately 51 miles away, is the most thriving city in the South West. The city offers a wealth of cultural activities with the theatre, the museum, arts centre and a variety of good shopping, including John Lewis, Waitrose and many restaurants. Exeter University is recognised as one of the best universities in the country.

Communication links to the property are excellent. Talisker is conveniently positioned for easy access to the North Devon Link Road, which leads to the M5 and Tiverton, as well as the A39 for access to Cornwall. There is a two hour rail connection to London Paddington from Tiverton Parkway. Exeter Airport, approximately 63 miles away, offers an increasing range of international and domestic flights, including two flights a day to London City Airport. Bristol Airport, approximately 95 miles away, offers an even greater choice of international flights.


From Exeter, follow the A361 in the direction of Braunton. Turn left onto Caen Street/B3231 and continue for approximately 5 miles, into the centre of Croyde. Just after the stores and Post Office, turn left onto Jones’s Hill and then turn left onto Moor Lane. Talisker is on the left hand side.
