Independent schooling in the area includes The Croft Prep School, St. John's Priory, Carrdus and Winchester House (Brackley) with senior schools at Tudor Hall, Bloxham, Warwick, King's High and Stratford Grammar.
The village is centred around the village green with a 12th century church and many period ironstone houses and cottages.
Communication links from the village are excellent, with easy access to the M40 (J11) at Banbury and mainline train services to London Marylebone in under 1 hour, Oxford and Birmingham from Banbury station. The village is also well located for travelling to Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa and the Cotswolds.
From Banbury take the A422 Stratford Road. Continue through Wroxton and after a further two miles, turn left to Shenington and Alkerton. Continue into the village and through the dip, turn right at the village green and 1 The Green can be found straight ahead.Read all
