Situation

Betteshanger is a rural village to the west of the popular town of Deal. Both Deal and Sandwich provide a broad range of shopping, leisure and educational amenities with nearby Canterbury and Dover providing a comprehensive range of services as well as a good selection of well-regarded schools. The area offers plentiful outdoor pursuits with lovely coastal cliff walks, fishing and sailing.

The A256 Eastry bypass gives access to the A2 at Whitfield. Dover station offers High Speed services to London St Pancras in just over an hour. Access to the Continent is excellent via the Port of Dover, the Channel Tunnel terminal at Folkestone and Eurostar services from Ashford International.

Directions

From Canterbury: Proceed south on the A2 towards Dover. Remain on the A2 for approx. 7 miles. Pass the turning to Folkestone. At the first major junction (set of traffic lights) turn left to Eythorne and Shepherdswell. Continue through these villages towards the A256. At the A256 turn left and stay on the dual carriageway. Pass over the next roundabout. About 200 metres after the roundabout turn right (signposted Northbourne). Stay on this lane then take the next left turn. Proceed down the lane for about 0.75 mile and Updown Farm House will be found on the right.
