Sporting

Field sports have an important place within many estates and can contribute to local economies and communities. Working alongside landowners, sporting tenants and licensees, estate managers and gamekeepers, we are responsible for tens of thousands of acres of land used across the UK for rural sporting purposes. Our agricultural and business operations specialists help estate owners with their rural sporting property requirements, facilitating everything from staffing shoots to maintaining riverbanks for fishing.

Rural sporting services

Operational advice

Working closely alongside gamekeepers, ghillies, stalkers and their teams, we advise on all aspects of running a successful shoot, stalking estate or river beat, whether run in-hand or let. Our advice and support is tailored to a client’s objectives, but with the aim of ensuring that their sporting activities operate on a sustainable basis.

Staff recruitment and management

Rural sporting often requires specialist staff, and our teams can help to source and train employees on a casual or permanent basis. From beaters and dog handlers for one-off shoot days to in-house teams, we can help find the right people to ensure your events run smoothly.

Habitat management and conservation

We can advise on habitat maintenance, planting of game crops and woodland cover, maintenance of fencing, riverbanks, gates, butts, hides, seats, and vehicles. Our long-established teams help clients develop woodlands and improve habitats as part of our strategic estate-planning offering.

Hospitality

No day in the field is complete without suitable refreshments. Our teams can organise picnics, barbecues and catering for fishing huts, shoots and other rural sporting days. We can also source suitable local hostelries for accommodation and refreshments.
